The company announced through a blogpost, that the new feature will allow users to add the right soundtrack to their Stories and express themselves better to their audience. In addition, only iOS users will be able to choose a song before capturing a photo or video, but Android will soon also have that capability.
To celebrate, the app is adding a feature that's likely to generate a lot of excitement among its Stories-loving users: the ability to add musical soundtracks to your posts.
"You can search for a specific song, browse by mood, genre or what's popular and tap the play button to hear a preview", the company said in a blog post.
The feature is available today in Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the U.S.A., with more countries coming.
For the first time, you'll finally be able to further liven up your Stories by soundtracking uploads with your favorite tunes. What's more, you can even pick a song before capturing a video. They'll also see a tappable sticker with the song title and artist name. It's unclear when this feature will go live in the Android app, but it shouldn't be too long.
"Instagram "Stories" is now used by 400 million every day, and we're excited to give our community new ways to feel closer to their friends and followers", the statement added.
The feature is now available only in a few selected countries and Instagram is working towards launching the feature in more countries.
