England Boss Reacts To Colombia Win

Speaking to ITV's Gabriel Clarke, the Liverpool midfielder said: "I apologise to back home, to anybody who skipped a heartbeat!"

England striker Harry Kane has been named the Budweiser Man of Tuesday's round of 16 clash between England and Colombia at the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

The South Americans had been getting away with blatant holding and wrestling at each of England's many corners and the referee's patience finally snapped when Carlos Sanchez hauled down tournament leading scorer Kane once too often.

The win came after a tense, scrappy match that saw Colombia rack up six yellow cards and more than 20 fouls against England - with tensions threatening to boil over at times.

Harry Kane is England's answer to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, says Jamie Redknapp, with the Tottenham striker one of the top five players in world football.

Amid a few penalty puns there was universal praise for the contributions of Jordan Pickford and Eric Dier to England's first-ever win on penalties in the World Cup, along with excitement for Saturday's clash with Sweden.

Watching on from the stands Megan shared a hilarious couple of pictures that pretty much summed up exactly how we were all feeling when the last 16 match went to penalties.

The Everton man saved a kick in the shootout to hand the English side a ticket to the last eight of the competition in Russian Federation.

The vandalism prompted a storm of criticism of English fans on Russian social networks, with users calling them poor guests at Russia's World Cup.

He said: 'I want to send an important message to those people who think things can be resolved with violence, and with weapons, that they can take someone's life just because they make a mistake, in this case the life of a football player.

"The house will be hard on Tuesday because obviously one of us will be sad, I just hope Dan doesn't gloat too much if England win".

"I actually predicted we would get knocked out to Colombia in the last 16 so I was already anxious".

Kane further said, "It gives us huge belief".
