Brazil's Marcelo set to be fit for Mexico clash

Brazil full-back Marcelo will not start their round of 16 clash against Mexico at Samara Arena on Monday.

Coach "pentakamponeov" assured that the Mexicans will play those who finish the fight against the Serbs.

Lasmar said Marcelo would be evaluated again after Sunday's training, adding that "we're optimistic that he'll be able to be ready for the game".

Recall that the national team of Brazil defeated Serbia (2-0) and first came out in the 1/8 finals of the world Cup.

Note that if Tite really releases these 11 players, then the seats in the composition will not be found for one of the best players of the Brazilians in this tournament - Philippe Coutinho.

Filipe Luis will replace him in what will be the only change to the side that beat Serbia in their final group game.

It wasn't until a post-match interview by team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar that the reason for Marcelo's substitution was revealed. The injury may be related to the hotel mattress.

After the game, Lasmar said: "It is still too early to make an accurate diagnosis". I know it was his back, more than that the doctor can explain.

Winger Douglas Costa, who plays for Juventus, continues to recover from a right thigh injury he sustained in the group stage and will not play against Mexico.
