The Nintendo Switch Paid Online Services Start The Second Half Of September

That being said it is still something to get excited about.

I love all things Nintendo, especially the GameCube era and Animal Crossing!

Fortnite is available now for iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with an Android launch coming at some point in 2018.

Of course, there's always a chance that Nintendo goes on to add the Switch Online disclaimer before the service goes live, but that possibility seems relatively low at this point. Ultimate, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Mario Tennis Aces and Sushi Striker: "The Way of Sushido". When the paid online service launches, free Nintendo Switch online play will end. There will also be retro love as well for members, including the original NES version of The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. We've known for a good while that the service will provide "access to online play & Save Data Cloud backup".

We're hoping Nintendo will be more specific with its plans sooner than later before launch (perhaps through a Nintendo Direct that will also announce games that will heavily use the service). Subscribers will also get to back up their save data to the cloud, which is seen by many as a necessary feature as there's no easy way to back up save data now.

Nintendo Switch Online App*: The Nintendo Switch Online smartphone application can be used to enhance the online experience for compatible games through voice chat and other features.
