Man Utd: Jose Mourinho has 'no problem' with chief executive Ed Woodward

The France World Cup victor questioned whether United had the correct attitude after last weekend's 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion, saying the Seagulls "prepared very well, maybe much better than us".

Martial saw his relationship with Jose Mourinho hit new lows this summer when he left United's USA pre-season tour to meet his newborn baby girl.

When reminded that he had in the past always spoken about Woodward with respect, and asked if their relationship was still fine, he added: "Of course".

Pressed further on the situation ahead of Tottenham's visit to Old Trafford on Monday, Mourinho was typically spiky in his reply.

"I feel we played well against Leicester (City) and we won. I'm not the right guy to answer", he said.

"And I think when a player goes on loan, he does so to play in his best position".

But if he does play to the best of his ability on a consistent basis, Man United will be well within reach of winning silverware this season.

Their performance at Brighton was more of a concern than the 3-2 defeat and saw United come under the microscope, with intense scrutiny on the manager, players and background operations during an uncomfortable week.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho showed up half an hour early for a press conference that only lasted four minutes.

"I don't know 10% of what is written or what is coming on the TV screens so I'm not the right one to ask", he said.

"I don't know because today is still Friday and we are training on Saturday and training on Sunday and the match is on Monday".

Manchester United will be hoping they bounce back from their shocking defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion when they take on Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur, who are seemingly high on confidence.

Alexis Sanchez is set to return to the United side after missing the Brighton match with a "dead leg".
