PATRIOTS NOTEBOOK: Its time for Tom vs. the Texans

After 18 years in the NFL, Tom Brady has done it all.

Brady spoke on the 10th anniversary of the season-ending injury he suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2008 opener at Gillette, his knee buckling when he got hit on a safety blitz by Bernard Pollard.

"If I'm going to do something at this point, it's going to be because I enjoy it", Brady said in a narration in the episode.

Tom Brady is making one thing clear as he prepares for his 19th NFL season: He doesn't plan to stop playing football anytime soon.

This time, Brady stayed and answered.

"It's a blessing. I'm extremely grateful to be voted", Mathieu said. That's where my focus is.

"I just knew from the time that he arrived here that he had really good poise", O'Brien said. It was reported the Guerrero was no longer authorized to stay on the sidelines during games and had been prohibited from entering the team facilities. QB Tom Brady, now 41, passed for 378 yards and five TDS in last meeting.

Belichick, while speaking on NFL Network analyst Ian Rapaport's podcast, shared a great story about when he and Brady were grouped together at the 2014 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and Brady chose to risk his life while hitting his third shot on Pebble's oceanside par-5 sixth hole.

"It's been a long road, it's been a grind, it's been a lot of ups and downs over the last couple of years, obviously but the thing I'm most looking forward to is today's practice", he said.

"Alex and I, we work together", Brady said when asked about Guerrero's current arrangement with the Patriots. The Pats are the only National Football League team with zero receivers that have topped 700 yards in a single season.

"I don't want to bring on any drama this year", Brady told reporters Friday, via ESPN's Mike Reiss. I think a lot of keeping things in perspective, like nothing's that big a deal to me anymore and maybe just caring about things that really matter like my family, like people's health, like life and death.

"We expect every player that we play against to be at their best. We've got to do a good job on them and then obviously take our opportunities in the passing game when we can".

New England also signed Wide Receiver Cordarelle Patterson in Free Agency, and claimed Receiver Chad Hansen off Waivers from the Jets.

Despite winning five Super Bowls and becoming the oldest player ever to win MVP honors last season at age 40, Brady said he thinks there's another level he can reach.

Brady had no interest in discussing the new Nike commercial by quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has seemingly been blackballed from the National Football League for advocating for social change, as he sought to avoid "the hot topics and my reaction to them".

The Pats will inevitably encounter rough patches as they construct their offense. While Brady likely won't have a five-touchdown game this time around, he should be able to have a solid first week of the season.

And he's ready to embrace the challenge. "They're unbelievable football players".
