Cristiano Ronaldo: 'There was anxiety after Juventus move'

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goals for Juventus in its 2-1 win over Sassuolo but his big day suffered a rather ugly mark thanks to his teammate, Douglas Costa.

On a Juventus corner, Gianmarco Ferrari attempted to head the ball down for his goalkeeper to collect but the ball came off the post and fell to Ronaldo who scored from a yard or two out.

The 33-year-old's first goal came from a tap in after the ball struck the post, while his second saw him drill across goal and hit the far post.

Finally, Cristiano Ronaldo has opened his account as a Juventus player after drawing a blank in his opening three Serie A games.

However, while his statement apologised to "all Juventus fans for this misleading reaction" as well as his team-mates, there was no reference to Di Francesco himself.

Sassuolo pulled a goal back in the last few minutes.

'I also apologize to my teammates, who are always with me in attractive and bad moments. "I'd like to emphasise that this isolated incident does not correspond with what I have always shown throughout my career".

Ronaldo is the joint-highest rated player on the game with Lionel Messi on 94 but Moberg joked about the fact that Ronaldo's physicality rating is lower than his.

"Even if I just gave him two passes, he would score two goals and that's why he's one of the greatest footballers who's ever lived". That is 39 more than his nearest competitor in that list, as Lionel Messi comes second-place with 621 goals of his own.

Bolstered by five-time victor Ronaldo, Juventus begin their quest for a first Champions League title since 1996 at Valencia on Wednesday. "I really wanted to score, so I'm happy".

"Champions League? Yes, it is the tournament I like the most, we hope to have luck, it will be a hard group but I can not wait".

Roma are ninth with five points from four games - already seven points adrift of Juventus - and also behind city rivals Lazio who won at Empoli with Marco Parolo scoring the only goal.
