The Amazon Fire TV 4K Pendant is no more

A Fire TV Recast bundle including the Fire TV Stick 4K, recently unveiled DVR, and a 35-mile HD antenna can also be purchased in exchange for $249.97, while a Fire TV Stick 4K/ Echo Dot combo now fetches $79.98. Our new quad-core processor delivers a fast and fluid experience and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ provides an fantastic picture. The device is available for pre-order from the website and will start shipping from November 14.

The new version is also 80 per cent more powerful than its predecessor thanks to a new 1.7Ghz quad-core processor - making it more powerful than many smartphones. "And it obviously brings the 4K capability to streaming on a stick form factor", Parag Gupta, Head, Product and Marketing, Amazon India told India Today Tech.

If you prefer, you can link your Fire Stick 4K to an Echo device and voice-control it that way, but the voice remote has been a victor for Amazon and that too has been updated.

Gupta added that one can also pair their Echo devices (if any) with the Fire TV to control their entertainment experience and launch apps using Alexa. Alternatively, user can also find 4K content through Alexa commands.

Previously, the Fire TV Stick had a price tag of $40 (£40) and only offered 1080p, with no HDR support. Amazon Fire TV's user interface will also feature a dedicated row of 4K titles to make it easier for users to find these titles.

Another big change with the updated Fire TV Stick is in the remote - it finally includes a power button and volume controls, which have always been a top request from many users.

The refreshed Alexa Voice Remote allows you to control TVs, AV equipment, and cable boxes through Bluetooth and multi-directional infrared. It will start shipping later this month and is up for pre-order now for $50. It won't arrive in the UK, Germany or India until 14 November, however.
