Canadian government condemns killing of Jamal Khashoggi

When asked whether the body had been cut up - and where it was - al-Jubeir said that his government was working with Turkey to find out.

"I hope that Joe Kaeser will rethink this", the leader of the Social Democrats (SPD), Andrea Nahles, told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper on Sunday. "I knew it was a trap and just left with my expired passport".

"I don't respond to the critics", Kushner said.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who said he would not attend the conference, met with the crown prince on Monday night. The younger Khashoggi "expressed his honest thanks" to the Crown Prince for his thoughts, according to SPA.

"You don't need a body double for a rendition or an interrogation", the official said. Ankara insists that the Saudis had planned to murder the journalist and dispatched an assassination squad to take him out.

And one member of the 15 man team who flew in specially for the rendezvous that morning was a post-mortem specialist, Dr Salah al-Tubaigy.

"We can not close this file until the crown prince is brought to account and removed from his post".

He added: "We support the Turkish investigation into it and the British government will want to see people held to account for that death". Turkish officials believe he was killed by Saudi agents inside the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul, and it is claimed there are audio recordings which prove the journalist was dismembered in the building. Other members of Khashoggi's family, including his ex-wife and daughter, are now in Dubai, add the sources. "The more one thinks about it, the more it feels like our intelligence is being mocked". He added: "We will know very soon".

-Oct. 8: Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Turkey is summoned over Khashoggi's disappearance and alleged killing. After weeks of denying knowledge of Khashoggi's whereabouts, Riyadh admitted that he had been killed in the consulate.

It forms part of the wider investigation by Turkish officials into the events of that day and the continued interrogation and worldwide questioning of Saudi Arabia's version of how the journalist died.

That's according to statements published early Monday by the state-run Saudi Press Agency.

According to the report, registration documents showed that the vehicle belonged to the Saudi consulate.

"Jamal is a Saudi citizen who went missing after leaving the consulate", he wrote.

"This was an operation where individuals ended up exceeding the authorities and responsibilities they had", he said. Shortly before 3 p.m., surveillance footage recorded Madani exiting the consulate through the back door, along with an accomplice, in the journalist's blazer, shirt and pants, CNN reported.

On the day Khashoggi disappeared, Cengiz waited for hours outside the consulate for him and, when he did not return, got in touch with authorities as he had instructed her to do, she later said.

The Trump Administration continues to gather facts regarding the death of journalist and Saudi Arabia dissident Jamal Khashoggi, adviser Jared Kushner said Monday in rare public remarks. The Conservatives are by no means the only party to blame - Tony Blair's Labour government was also guilty of indulging the Saudi regime to the benefit of the arms industry - but they are the ones now defending what has become an indefensible status quo.

The statement, calling the journalist's death "tragic", says the two presidents had a telephone call on Sunday, without providing more details.
