UFC 230: Daniel Cormier challenges Brock Lesnar for UFC and WWE titles

White spoke after Cormier defeated Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 and said that he expects the fight to take place.

Lewis was comletely outclassed in the first round, but looked risky at the start of the second as he began to throw some bombs.

The future isn't immediately clear for Daniel Cormier right now but with yet another rising force nullified as a contender, you'd have to assume that his next bout will be a lucrative one.

Daniel Cormier defeated Derrick Lewis via submission (rear-naked choke), Round 2, 2:14 at UFC 230 on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, live from Madison Square Garden, NY.

"It's history, baby", he told Joe Rogan afterwards. "Like my man Jon Anik says, 'History in the making". One of the greatest of all time.

'Brock Lesnar! When you come, bring that brand new WWE title too, I feel like being a WWE champion too.

Former kickboxer Roberson, on the back of suffering his first pro defeat against Cezar Ferreira at UFC 224, set the tone in the first round, attempting an early head kick which was blocked by Marshman. "Everything he did had incredible power".

Daniel Cormier is hoping to return to the octagon at UFC 235 in March of 2019 for a fight with former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

Cormier defended his title with a clinical win over Lewis. Lewis was able to get right back up, though still pressed against the cage.

Jones has ruled out a trilogy, and Cormier's next challenger will surely give him a better fight than Lewis. He secured top control on Lewis where he landed short shots to Lewis. Again, the Houston native regained his feet, but the respite only last a matter of seconds as Cormier took him down again.

Referee Herb Dean stopped the action with nine seconds left in the round.

Before the main event, Karl Roberson earned a convincing unanimous decision over Welshman Jack Marshman in their middleweight bout.
