Iwobi Can Get Better With Time - Emery

Granit Xhaka believes a renewed collective spirit will assure Arsenal a top four finish in the Premier League this season.

"We know the opposition well, where they are good and where they are not".

Iwobi assisted Alexandre Lacazette's equaliser and popular portal rated him 7/10 for his second half show, especially when moved to left back, stating: "His pace was causing a lot of headaches for the Liverpool defence". "It gives us the big regularity for the season - 38 matches", he said.

"For our result this point is not enough but Liverpool is a very good test and at the moment we are continuing to work and improve and we are nearer to this performance going forward".

"The manager has a new philosophy". "There are positives. Coming away from Arsenal and being disappointed with a draw is a positive, and also the amount of chances we created".

"We could have kept our shape better in the first half".

"Again, that's another learning curve for us-to see those sorts of games out". But the Uruguayan worldwide is the type of player Arsenal lacked in the final years of Wenger's reign.

Unai Emery sent on Alex Iwobi on 68 minutes, and the Nigerian global eventually set up Arsenal's equaliser, with Lacazette turning past a stranded Alisson before producing a fine finish. They have one from us [the 0-0 draw at Anfield], if they get 89 more I have no influence on that.

Even Emery admitted Arsenal are far from the finished article, even citing Liverpool's gradual improvement in three years under Klopp as an example to follow.

The Reds travelled to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday with a more athletic, solid and physical duo of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez at the back.

"The best way is to do it right from the first moment and then you can build on that, but we didn't do it right from the first moment".

It's tempting to look at Liverpool's front three and be intimidated but when they had the ball, they were courageous and got players forward, their full-backs high up the pitch, to ask questions.

Both teams have four league fixtures before they come up against each other and if they win all four in the meantime, the Maurizio Sarri's side will be able to go above City in the table by winning them.
