Pop singer Beyonce lends star power to Texas Democrat O'Rourke

Ted Cruz (R-TX), he has undoubtedly developed a stronghold of support and significant campaign funds.

When it comes time to interview the man himself, Triumph/Smigel can't resist flinging a few zingers O'Rourke's way.

As election day got underway, NBC correspondent Garrett Haake spoke to a voter named Pamela who explained why she came out to vote with her oxygen tank and wheelchair.

Triumph replied with a burn that might've left a scar. Triumph asks Beto O'Rourke before adding, "besides the ability to regenerate your tail?" At one point, while interviewing some Cruz supporters, Triumph takes the Zodiac joke to an unexpected place. Ted Cruz and Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke could indicate the political future of "ruby red" Texas; revealing whether the Lone Star State could "turn blue" due to shifting demographics and a wave of younger voters. Triumph, a.k.a. comic Robert Smigel, asked an O'Rourke supporter.

"I'm here at the Ted Cruz rally", Triumph announces, "or a Duck Dynasty cosplay convention".

Triumph finally confronted Cruz after one of his rallies. I'm not overwhelming scientific evidence of global warming!" and "Ted, quick question! Triumph responded by saying "I support spaying and neutering, just like Trump did to you".

"Ted, is it true that you will defend the constitution at all costs?"

People have compared Cruz to the Zodiac killer, which Triumph called unfair, "since his plan to end Obamacare would kill way more people - I mean way, way, way, way more people!"

Colbert noted that Triumph had been unsuccessful in confronting Senator Ted Cruz during the 2016 Republican presidential primary, but Triumph's luck was a bit better this time around.

"We want him to win, and we'll be watching the TV tonight with him", she said.
