The Magic went on a 21-0 run in the fourth quarter to wipe out a 16-point deficit, before Terrence Ross had a tie-breaking three-pointer in the final seconds to lift the side to a 111-106 win. Rondo is averaging 8.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
JaVale McGee supported James with 20 points, while fellow starters Brandon Ingram (17) and Lonzo Ball (11) also weighed in with double-digit tallies.
The 36-year-old center told the Los Angeles Times he had five teams interested in him after he was bought out by the Suns earlier this month.
In other one-sided games, Dallas routed Utah 118-68, the Wizards beat James' former team Cleveland 119-95, Oklahoma City swamped the Knicks 128-103, Miami were too strong for the Nets 120-107, Boston hammered Chicago 111-82 and Phoenix upset San Antonio 116-96.
"I'm not talking about it", he said.
"Rondo does a lot for our team, you know?"
Rajon Rondo is expected to have surgery this week on his broken right hand, and the Los Angeles Lakers plan to use a variety of strategies to replace the veteran point guard while he heals.
Rondo had surgery to fix the broken third metacarpal in his right hand on November 16, an injury sustained in the final frame of that game while attempting to make a steal. But, it was in the third quarter when he really took over. Recently, Walton spoke about that he is pleased with multiple players averaging in double-figures. He hasn't played since October 25.
"So maybe that keeps teams from making great offers that can rival what the Lakers could offer him".
He made all eight of his fourth-quarter free throws, including the two from the flagrant foul on Portland's C.J. McCollum.
"LeBron carried them", Nurkic said.
Rondo had been back on the roster for just a few of weeks after being suspended without pay in October for an on-court fight with the Houston Rockets' Chris Paul. He did everything for the Lakers to help them cruise to a comfortable victory over Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.
