Video Released Of The Gender Reveal Party That Caused Massive Wildfire

Shocking eyewitness footage released by the US Forest Service Monday shows how quickly viral internet trends can have devastating real-world consequences, even for something as mundane as a gender reveal party.

He fired a rifle at a target that was supposed to reveal the gender of his unborn baby.

Let this be a lesson: End gender reveal parties.

The incident happened back in Arizona in April 2017, but now thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request from the Arizona Daily Star the video has been made public. A man's voice yells, "start packing up! start packing up!" When the target is hit, a flash of blue powder appears before the explosion sparked the Sawmill Fire, which burned more than 45,000 acres of state and federal land.

One of the commenters where the video is posted on YouTube, wrote, "I feel bad for the poor baby boy who's inheriting those genes".

Dickey reported the fire immediately and admitted igniting it, the US Forest Service said. The weather station is at 7,100 feet and the location of the party where the fire started is most likely around 4,000 feet.

He was ordered to pay a $100,000 (£78,000) fine up front and then $500 (£390) every month for the next 20 years.

Moments after the shot lands, the target explodes and the nearby brush catches fire.

Dickey's sentence also included five years of probation.
