New Game Of Thrones Season 8 Teaser Points To An Epic Showdown

HBO released a new Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer with "Dragonstone".

As the teaser opens, we see a great wave of ice spreading across what looks like a stone table with the map of Westeros dotting it. Winter is officially here.

So far, we've only seen a scant two seconds of Game of Thrones's final season: a hug between Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).

There has been all kinds of speculation and reports on what's to come, both with the final season and various proposed spin-offs.

The teaser shows ice enveloping the land of Westeros, covering a wolf and a dragon, symbolising the Night King and the White Walkers.

Unless you've been watching the HBO series in a vacuum, A Song of Ice and Fire is the actual name of the book series.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the final season of Game of Thrones as we learn it. The ice then moves ahead and freezes over a dragon statue, the sigil of House Targaryen. Meanwhile, a Lannister lion - backed by fire - spreads its flames northward, until the opposing forces meet in a violent clash. Ice and fire, indeed. HBO said in June that it had given a pilot order to a prequel that will take place thousands of years before the events of the current series. The eight season of the popular fantasy drama will premiere in April, nearly two years after season seven.
