There is now no date set or platforms revealed for The Outer Worlds. From what we can see in the trailer, the game looks like an interesting blend of Fallout, BioShock, and maybe a bit of Borderlands for good measure. This is The Outer Worlds, developed by the original creators of Fallout and Fallout New Vegas! Exploring the far reaches of space, you'll encounter different factions, all of which are competing for power. It seems we're set to enter a world controlled by corporations where people are marginalized and you, the unlikely hero, can make any decision you please.
Check out The Outer Worlds official announcement trailer on YouTube now. The trailer showcases the risky and whacky world the game is set in, and sets the tone for the game. Not only is it an RPG, which is Obsidian Entertainment's specialty, but it's also a sci-fi shooter, combining the premises of two of the studio's most well-known titles: The Sith Lords and Fallout: New Vegas.
As you would expect from Obsidian, this is a single-player RPG with plenty of freedom.
Jokes are famously made better when they're explained to you, but on this occasion I think I'll just let you read Avellone's tweet for yourself.
The Outer Worlds is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We should hear more information regarding the game's release in 2019.
