Dillian Whyte has knocked out Dereck Chisora in the 11th round of their heavyweight fight at the O2 in London on Sunday morning (AEDT).
"[Whyte] has proved himself", Joshua said afterwards.
Wilder's draw with Tyson Fury in LA has put the American in an awkward position regarding his next bout, and it's expected he will fight the Mancunian again before entering the ring with Joshua. "I need to fight Deontay Wilder for the belt". Dominic Breazeale is Wilder's mandatory challenger while Whyte is also now ranked at No 1 by the WBC.
Though their was no major title on the line in this heavyweight showdown, the stakes were undeniably high, as the victor would be well positioned for more blockbuster fights in the heavyweight division - very possibly a showdown with unified heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua. So I said alright, cool. It gotta come right back. In my opinion, he deserves it.
"So, if Dillian Whyte fight gets made, I don't want to hear any boos and "it's not the fight we want to see" - do you know where I'm coming from?"
The beaten fighter required medical attention while down on the canvas but was able to get back to his feet before being receiving further treatment in his corner.

Whyte wasn't happy with that arrangement and walked away while Joshua was still talking. There's a victor and a loser - you know what I'm saying?
"Dillian, let's forget about what happened in the past", Joshua said.
Whyte also said: 'I started from nowhere and I have not been handed anything. I'm quite respectful. But if Dillian steps in the ring with me, trust me, you best believe me, none of these heavyweights are on my level.
WBC heavyweight king Deontay Wilder has declared he won't fight Anthony Joshua in April because he has made a decision to rematch Tyson Fury.
"I keep my lid on it, because I don't want to explode on none of them, but I do that business in the ring, and if Dillian's serious, he can come get this work as well".
