Ariana Grande Makes Coachella History As Youngest Female Headliner Ever

The organizers of the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have announced the top acts scheduled to appear at the multiday event in April.

It's a historic moment for Grande, who, Glamour points out, becomes only the fourth female performer to ever headline the festival (after Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Björk).

Ari will be joining Tame Impala and Childish Gambino as headliner of Coachella 2019. Saturday's bill includes Solange, Weezer, and Billie Eilish, as well as a rare festival appearance by Aphex Twin.

Among the highlights for the third day are Khalid, Zedd, Gesaffelstein, Bad Bunny, Chvrches, YG, Playboi Carti, H.E.R., and Pusha-T.

A source slammed the festival's staging as "archaic", adding: "It's the same type of stage on which Shakespeare's works were performed hundreds of years ago".

Coachella will be taking place at the Empire Polo Club April 12-14 and April 19-21.

Passes for Coachella 2019 go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. PST.

According to TMZ, the 41-year-old rapper refused to perform on the standard 60x40 stage as it was "artistically limiting".

"See you in the desert", Elba tweeted on Thursday morning along with the full lineup.
