But Samsung isn't alone in working to get folding screen devices on the market; Huawei has been tipped to debut a folding smartphone at MWC 2019. After Samsung, we were expecting many other Smartphone makers to bring their foldable devices but looks like Xiaomi has already begun the race. Blass says he was told that Xiaomi made the device, presumably from the same individual who sent the video, but even he sounds very skeptical.
At the Samsung Developer Conference, the company revealed its new foldable display, teasing what its new foldable device will look like. Moreover, the corporate is understood for pushing the boundaries of smartphone style - the MI combine series touted almost bezel-free displays months before different major brands followed suit. We might see a handful of foldable smartphones this year since numerous Chinese manufacturers have been preparing for the same. And if it is, Xiaomi might just have a solid looker here. There's no confirmation from the company on the alleged foldable phone as of yet. On closing the sides the device can be used as a smartphone, but on opening the sides the device can work as a tablet. The user also uses the compass button on the right-hand side of the Maps app to go to their geolocation, so it appears that the device has a fully functional curved touch screen. Earlier past year, ET News had reported that Xiaomi was developing an "outfolding" phone with plans to release it sometime in 2019.
The device also seems to be running Android 9.0 Pie, as is evident in the manner the time is shown at the top left of the device when held in smartphone mode.
