Daphne Ronning told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Patterson's parents moved to Gordon about 15 years ago.
When police arrived four minutes later, no gun or suspects were found at the scene and there was no sign of Jayme. On Friday, Jayme underwent medical and mental evaluations, spoke to law enforcement and was scheduled to be reunited with her family.
Without getting specific, authorities said on Friday that James Thomas Patterson took various steps to avoid detection by law enforcement and the public after the October 15 murders.
"She is good, she's been cleared from the hospital", said Fitzgerald.
They had been fatally shot at the home outside Barron but their daughter was nowhere to be found.
The Barron County Sheriff's Department was notified by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department that they had located Jayme Closs alive, according to Fitzgerald.
Closs, missing from her Barron County home since last October, was found in the Douglas County Town of Gordon at around 4:45 Thursday evening.
The FBI had been searching nationwide for Closs and described her as "endangered". Police have yet to provide any more details about the investigation.
A woman reportedly called the police after she spotted Closs while out walking her dog, telling WCCO that the young teen approached her and said she needed help. "Call 911!" the neighbour told the teacher, according to the Star Tribune.
January 10, 2019 - Jayme is found alive in the Town of Gordon, a rural community about an hour from her home.
Investigators now believe Patterson killed Jayme's parents - James Closs, 56, and Denise Closs, 46 - at their home in October and abducted Jayme, and that it appears he went there with the precise intention of taking the girl, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said.
He said Jayme had been kept at a home in a "remote area outside of Gordon" and that Patterson had worked to also hide her identity from the public. "It's the news we've been waiting on for three months".
The girl's disappearance in October made national news in the US and stunned her hometown, population 3,400, about 140 kilometres east of Minneapolis and sparked massive searches with 1,500 volunteers scouring woods and fields in suburban Minneapolis.
"Whatever other details may surface, the most important will still remain that she is alive", Smart said.
A woman who helped a Wisconsin girl who'd been missing for three months following her parents' deaths says the girl told her she'd been held against her will.
He said the girl said she didn't know where she was or anything about Gordon, though it seemed she had been in the area for most of her disappearance.
Kasinskas said she brought the "slender-looking" girl into her living room and sat down with her. He said a search warrant is now being served on the Gordon home and authorities are also investigating several cars that belong to Patterson, who he said has "zero" criminal history.
Naiberg says Jayme reported that she'd been held by "a guy in the woods" but was able to escape.
