Meet the egg that dethroned Kylie Jenner on Instagram

After reaching its goal of snagging the most-liked Instagram post title, the account @World_Record_Egg has reportedly hinted at another mission.

It took less than a week and a half before the egg was victorious, toppling Jenner's record - the youngest Kardashian sister who has 123 million followers on Instagram - and accruing 31.8 million likes and counting.

And the humble, spotted-brown egg did just that. The Egg gang is trying to do the same on Twitter by trying to get more than 5.3 million retweets. Jenner shared a photo on Tuesday of her new daughter's tiny hand captioned with the baby's name, Stormi Webster.

We cannot answer these questions for you, we can only wait and see what the future holds for Egg Gang.

His post, celebrating Maezawa's clothing company, Zozotown, making 10 billion yen ($92 million) in sales over Christmas, has been retweeted almost 5.3 million times.

When did the egg break the record for most-liked image on Instagram?

Though Jenner may want to be a little cautious: The egg has more fans than Australia has citizens, and if they were to build a new city together it would be the world's second-largest.

Almost a year ago, Kylie Jenner received one of life's greatest gifts - the birth of her daughter - and along with it, the distinction of having the most-liked photo ever on Instagram.

Jenner didn't seem annoyed at being beaten by an egg, responding with a video of her cracking one onto the ground. "We got this", the post said.

18 million likes on a post is no small feat and initially when I checked out the photo back then, it had garnered over 200,000 likes. "Beating current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)".

This might be the most popular egg in history. But do you know what the most liked picture of a food is ever, on Instagram? But for now I need to sleep.
