Samsung to launch India-first smartphones to counter Chinese rivals

The company's new M-series of smartphones will be targeted at "millennials", who are flocking to ecommerce platforms to buy smartphones, a customer segment that played a major role in helping Xiaomi outpace Samsung. The company also stated that all the Galaxy M series smartphones will also be available on their own online store, for consumers to purchase. These M series smartphones are expected to feature latest Qualcomm's processors or the Samsung's proprietary Exynos processors as well.
While there used to be a very clear divide between mid-range smartphones and high-end flagships, the lines have increasingly blurred over the past few years.
Going by the earlier reports and the new official press renders, which reveal the new M series will be featuring Samsung's new Infinity-V displays, which the Korean tech giant introduced during their Developer Conference previous year. The word on the street is that Samsung might launch the Galaxy M30 as well on January 28. According to India Today, the series will kick off with two devices: the Galaxy M10 and M20.
As per the press release received by us, Samsung is expected to launch the first smartphone under M-series as on January 28th. The M20 is also said to be the first Samsung phone to house a 5,000mAh battery.
Citing GfK data, Warsi said the company exited the December 2018 quarter with a 40 per cent value share of the market.
