Peter Parker Lives In First 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' Trailer

We won't know until we've seen Avengers: Endgame and where our boy ended up after he was turned into dust in the wind.

Fans (us included) woke up this morning with our Spidey senses tingling for the possible release of a Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, and oh did Sony deliver. Spider-Man's first-ever arch supervillain.

In case you're not familiar with Mysterio, the comic book version of Quentin Beck started out as a special effects expert and stuntman working in Hollywood, but when he realized he couldn't progress further in his career, he turned to a life of crime. While she suggests he take it with him in case trouble arises in global streets, Peter is sure he'll be alright and doesn't really want to focus on saving the world during his time away.

All in all, this seems like a terrific follow-up to Homecoming, which was certainly one of the more enjoyable MCU entries to date.

But the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the first movie in Marvel's Phase Four, has confirmed a pretty big plot point. Rather, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) has embarked on a summer Eurotrip alongside MJ and his other high school classmates.

Viewers also get a glimpse of Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, who fights the Elementals with Peter.

"Mysterio is someone who knows about them and wants to make sure that the world is safe from them, and Nick Fury asks him to come on and help because he's the only one who really understands them".

Spider-Man: Far From Home, directed by Jon Watts, hits Australian cinemas on July 4. In March we're finally going to meet Captain Marvel and see her awesome power in action, as well as learn why she's been conspicuously absent from Earth for like twenty years. If we assume the lightning storm attacking the London Bridge is Zephyr, all four appear in the Far From Home trailer.

With a little less than six months to go, this trailer just got us even more excited for the film.

Spider-Man: Far From Home opens July 5 in the USA, and July 4 in Australia.
