"YG, I know you beat Post Malone".
The Rams travel to the Big Easy searching for their first Super Bowl berth since 2002 after disposing of the Dallas Cowboys with a 30-22 win as seven-point home favourites on Saturday.
Yet, the Saints could be slowed by the Rams' dominating defensive front led by NFL Defensive Player of The Year favourite Aaron Donald, Ndamukong Suh and Michael Brockers. But both are back where they belong with an even livelier clash expected the second time around.
The Saints' go-ahead march vs. Philadelphia in the third quarter of last Sunday's divisional playoff game started at their 8-yard and lasted 18 plays and 11-plus minutes.
"Getting a chance to feel what a tough atmosphere that is to play in where I think there's a lot of times a fear of the unknown, and now that we kind of know what to expect with a great crowd and how that's going to have to alter some of the different things that we'll do specific to offense, some of our communication", McVay said. He posted a 77.9 rating in his only other playoff game a year ago and threw no touchdowns and five interceptions in his final two regular-season games against playoff teams. This rematch presents a larger task despite the 10-point win a half-season ago.
So how have the two teams fared in previous head-to-head battles?
The Saints went 13-3 in the regular season, including a 45-35 defeat of the Rams in early November, to win the NFC South and earn the conference's No. 1 playoff seed. The Rams defeated the Saints, 26-20, in a Week 12 matchup last season in L.A.
