Dozens of people had waited in snow and freezing temperatures to greet Meghan and Harry outside the Bristol Old Vic theatre.

But despite the poor weather, Harry and Meghan, who is expecting their first child this Spring, were able to make it by train to Bristol for a series of engagements.

Meghan carried her gloves and even apologised to one person saying that her hands were cold.

Britain's Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Britain's Meghan, Duchess of Sussex visit Bristol Old Vic theatre in Bristol, England, Feb. 1, 2019. During the visit, Meghan wore a £2,335 silk-chiffon midi Oscar de la Rena dress, a vintage William coat and £531 olive leather boots from designer Sarah Flint.

It was confirmed earlier in the morning Harry and Meghan's visit would go ahead despite the snow.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in the city just before midday in front of huge crowds following a night of heavy snow in the area.

Meghan helped pack lunches and warm clothing for women.

During her visit, the Duchess - who has been named patron of the National Theatre - will join and watch a workshop with members of the Pericles company, which was the National Theatre's first Public Acts production in 2018.

They also stopped at Empire Fighting Chance in Easton, Bristol, a boxing club which uses boxing to support children failing at school and in danger of drifting into a life of unemployment or crime.

Royal watchers noticed the Duchess' look when she stepped out of the vehicle to visit the University of London.
