Investigators say plane carrying Emiliano Sala found and identified

A search boat located the plane Sunday morning after underwater searches were commenced.

The plane had requested to descend before losing contact with Jersey air traffic control.

The Argentinian's plane, flown by pilot David Ibbotson, went missing on a flight from Nantes to the Welsh capital last month.

Enough money was raised online to allow Sala's family to fund a private search after an official rescue operation for the light aircraft was called off. Authorities said there were unlikely to be any survivors.

The cushions were discovered Monday on near Surtainville, on the Cotentin Peninsula, by French authorities.

"We will continue to work until the plane is located", he said.

A second cushion was found in the same area later that day.

Fans left their tributes outside Gate 3 to the northwest of Cardiff City Stadium, surrounding the statue of 1927 FA Cup winnerand club legend Fred Keenor. We are giving the families the best chance to find the answers they don't have.

Emiliano Sala was on his way to Wales following a club record £15m signing by Cardiff City when the plane dissapeared. I was all right until the final whistle went and I went on the pitch. "I can't begin to explain how hard it's been". We've done him proud, I thought. I thought the whole club was unbelievable. "I've never seen or heard anything like it and I will remember it for the rest of my life really".

A moment of silent reflection was held in Sala's honour prior to kick-off, while his name was included in the official squad.

Cardiff's players, who sported daffodils embroidered on their shirts in Sala's honour, celebrated Reid's first goal by racing to the home dugout and holding up a blue shirt bearing Sala's photograph.
