Gladys Knight Sings Flawless National Anthem at Super Bowl

Several days before taking the field for "The Star-Spangled Banner", Knight spoke with Today co-anchor Craig Melvin about her decision to perform at this year's Super Bowl, expressing her desire to unite people with her rendition of the anthem. The common bet was whether she'd go over 1:50, and Knight sang for 2 minutes and 1 second.

If only one "brave" was sung at the end, the under would have hit.

Bookies on this side of the Atlantic typically take the lead on all National Football League matters from Las Vegas, where one sports book reportedly changed their stance on the over/under.

If you count Knight's anthem after the first fearless, the record would show she finished at 1:49, according to Bovada and OddsShark.

While Gladys certainly did an incredible job with the national anthem, she faced criticism for agreeing to sing it. ICYMI, the NFL and the African-American community have been at odds since Colin Kaepernick was exiled following protests against police brutality.

Gladys Knight had quite a performance during the national anthem on Sunday night. After her understated but emotional performance, she appeared humble, beaming brightly.
