Magic reportedly acquire Markelle Fultz from 76ers for Jonathon Simmons, multiple picks

The change of scenery could also help him overcome the stigma that comes with failing to live up to the lofty expectations of others.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Fultz has been traded to the Magic in exchange for Jonathon Simmons, a first-round pick, and a second-round pick. Simmons, who was averaging 6.9 points and 2.3 assists in 20 minutes this season, figures to be a useful player off the bench for Philadelphia.

Fultz appeared in just 33 games since the 76ers took him first overall, and hasn't played this season since November 19 as he deals with thoracic outlet syndrome.

Now, in moving Fultz, the Sixers have officially closed the book on The Process. "There's a real possibility he's played his last game with the 76ers". Fultz, an excellent shooter coming out of Washington (47.6 FG% / 41.3 3P% / 64.9 FT%) and one of the main reasons the Sixers moved up to get him, quickly became unable to shoot after his first summer as an National Basketball Association player.

Simmons will provide some solid wing depth for a team that desperately needs it, and they've managed to recoup a few of the picks that they've sent out already this season.

"We look forward to getting him in here, getting our arms around him, understanding everything he's dealing with and getting him through it, " Weltman said.

The 2019 NBA Trade Deadline is over and Anthony Davis was not traded, but there were still plenty of juicy NBA trades that took place - with several marquee players being moved.

But the Lakers couldn't put together a strong enough package to the Pelicans' liking for the All-Star forward, who will go back into the trade market after the season ends.

In the Mirotic deal, New Orleans acquired Jason Smith, Stanley Johnson and four second-round picks. Plus, interesting Lakers rumors, including Carmelo Anthony potentially teaming up with LeBron James in LA.
