Sarri rejects Guardiola's handshake after Chelsea's big defeat at Manchester City

Any illusions Chelsea may have had about being able to compete with Manchester City evaporated in about four minutes.

Maurizio Sarri expects to discuss his future with Chelsea as a direct result of the 6-0 hammering suffered away to Manchester City on Sunday. Antonio Rüdiger has been given the nod ahead of Andreas Christensen in defence, while Pedro starts ahead of Willian.

The final scoreline was the worst of Sarri's coaching career and comes less than two weeks on from the dire 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth, which magnified the scrutiny of the Blues' development under the former Napoli boss.

It began badly as they were caught napping after just four minutes.

Guardiola pointed to Aguero's 40th-minute opener in last month's 2-1 win over fellow title challengers Liverpool as the ideal example to illustrate his point.

"It's about being calm and then it's a lot of compliment to the players".

Guardiola is aiming to become the first manager in more than a decade to win back-to-back Premier League titles and has challenged his side to replicate the desire of his old club that won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues during his time there.

Aguero's second was gifted to him six minutes later.

City eased off for the remainder of the first half, and Gonzalo Higuain even managed to test Ederson with a sharp volley, but the hosts clicked back into gear after the break.

There seemed to be no let-up from City with De Bruyne firing a free kick at Arrizabalaga and Aguero shooting into the side-netting.

Well, we didn't have to wait long to find out the answer. Sterling was brought down in the box by Cesar Azpilicueta and Aguero stepped up and sent Kepa Arrizabalaga the wrong way from the spot.

And Silva's pass opened the visitors up again for the sixth as he picked out Oleksandr Zinchenko who crossed for Sterling to tap home.
