Iran Rejects Antisemitism Allegation by Pence

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference in the southern German city on Saturday after a visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland earlier in the week, Pence accused Iran of trafficking in "vile anti-Semitic hatreds and threats of violence", and warned that "the Iranian regime openly advocates another Holocaust and it seeks the means to achieve it".
Former American diplomat Nicholas Burns praised Ms Merkel as the first non-American "leader of the West" since Franklin D Roosevelt. In his speech, the magazine recalled, Pence had commended countries which took "a strong stand against Nord Stream 2", and stressed that the United States "cannot ensure the defence of the West if our allies grow dependent on the East".

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has issued a stark warning against abandoning global political structures, calling for treaties rejected by the United States to be rescued. "There is a joke that it is Iran that put itself in the middle of US bases".

Merkel noted the treaty was conceived "essentially for Europe", where such missiles were stationed during the Cold War.
Chancellor Angela Merkel is defending the development of the joint German-Russian Nord Stream 2 pipeline, dismissing American concerns it will weaken Europe's strategic position and assuring Ukraine it won't get cut off from Russian fuel. She said "the answer can not lie in blind rearmament".
