Kraft, who lives in MA but owns property in Palm Beach, Florida, is accused of visiting Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Florida, on two separate occasions to solicit sex. "We are as equally stunned as everyone else", Kerr said.
According to a statement from former prosecutor David Weinstein to AP, individuals facing first-time criminal charges for soliciting a prostitute are typically allowed to enter a diversion program, where they perform a number of hours of community services and pay to attend an educational program about prostitution and human trafficking.
The NFL did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment. The NFL's policy reads, "ownership and club or league management have traditionally been held to a higher standard and will be subject to more significant discipline when violations of the Personal Conduct Policy occur". Early this month hundreds of thousands of people lined the city's streets to see the owner and his team celebrate their sixth Super Bowl win. But the fact this is all part of a human sex trafficking investigation, and that more big names implicated in this are reportedly going to be released, certainly will have an impact on the National Football League and the Patriots.
Kraft lives in MA and has a home in the Palm Beach area.
Kraft is a major supporter of President Donald Trump, donating $1 million to his inauguration. Kraft's wife, Myra Hiatt Kraft, died in 2011.
Kraft has an on-and-off relationship with Ricki Lander, a 39-year-old actress who lives at his home in Los Angeles. "Well, that's very sad. He has denied it", Trump told reporters of his longtime friend at the White House Friday afternoon, reports The Hill. "He's proclaimed his innocence, totally, but I am very surprised to see it".
Kraft, 77, was charged with two counts of soliciting another to commit prostitution, according to authorities in the town of Jupiter.
Vero Beach police Chief David Currey, whose agency has been involved in the sex-trafficking investigation, said the prostitutes are victims of an global human trafficking ring and have been trapped into the trade.
