Xiaomi fans will recognise most of the Mi Mix 3 5G specifications because they're very similar to the regular 4G Mi Mix 3 launched in October 2018, with the addition of 5G CPU, GPU and radios.
The non 5G variant launched past year runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
The Mi Mix 3 5G is touted to continue the Mi Mix 3 legacy, including the ceramic body and the slider mechanism.
Xiaomi has once again stuck with its honest pricing and priced the Mi Mix 3 5G variant starting at 599 euros (which roughly translates to Rs 48,250). The X50 5G modem will generate a significant amount of heat, to which Xiaomi states that a hybrid cooling system is in place to act as a deterrent.
Xiaomi announced that it was doing what it can to push 5G, partnering with Qualcomm for the tech inside the Mi Mix 5G handset. It has a 6.39 inch 1080 x 2340 pixel dense AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with 6GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Xiaomi Mi 9 also has a highlight mode, game mode and an eye protection mode. Apart from the main sensor, the handset also sports a 16MP ultra-wide camera with a 117-degree field of view and lastly, it has a 12MP sensor with an F/2.2 aperture. Xiaomi says the new system has been certified safe by TÜV Rheinland and announced three 20W wireless chargers to use it with: a 20W Mi Wireless Charging Pad, 20W wireless vehicle charger, and a 10,000 mAh wireless power bank. The flagship model that was unveiled in China earlier this week with a triple rear camera setup, fifth-generation in-display fingerprint sensor, 90.7-percent screen-to-body ratio, and 20W wireless charging support.
Inside the Mi 9 is a 3300mAh battery, featuring fast charging for both wired and wireless charging. The front camera is a 20MP lens embedded in a water-drop style notch.
