Real Madrid vs. Barcelona

On Wednesday, Suarez scored two goals - essentially three as Raphael Varane's own goal so easily could have been his - to send Barcelona into the final.

Ousmane Dembele starts, as do Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in an attack-minded side, while Clement Lenglet replaces Samuel Umtiti at the heart of defence. The result was put beyond it on the 69th minute when a sliding Varane turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Suarez. Madrid, meanwhile, know that the Champions League is now their best chance of silverware as they sit nine points behind leaders in La Liga.

"They were a lot more efficient than we were", Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari said. "They hurt us when they had their chance".

Messi played only part of the 1-1 draw in the first leg at Camp Nou Stadium because of a right leg injury.

"We're coming through this phase of games - which was really tough [away against Lyon, Sevilla and Madrid twice] - really well".

Clasico's often give fans a chance to see some of Spain's top players share the same pitch and on top of that they also give the players a chance to scout their biggest rivals up close.

"To play here is the ultimate challenge, but the performance of the team has been fantastic - we can't have asked for more from ourselves in terms of the cup recently". It would leave the Champions League as the only competition in which it can still succeed in its first season without Cristiano Ronaldo in almost a decade.

After conceding at home, Barcelona needed to score at the Bernabeu to have any chance of advancing, and it didn't look good for the Catalan club as it was outplayed by Madrid throughout the first half.

It's clear that Vinicius is heavily involved in his side's play.

"Suarez is a goalscorer who is always there".

Since Solari's arrival, Madrid have played 29 games across all competitions, winning 21, losing six and drawing two.

But his selection in Madrid's starting line-up remains in doubt.

The Argentine is not exactly the toast of the town following Madrid's Copa del Rey second leg defeat and the former Los Blancos winger was evidently in no mood to mediate with disgruntled fans.
