Leak Seemingly Confirms Modern Warfare 2 Remaster

This year, we'll see Infinity Ward return to the series, it is also the 10-year anniversary of Modern Warfare 2, so the remaster coming out this year makes a lot of sense.

The Europe Game Ratings Board, PEGI, has just posted a rating for "Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2 Campaign Remastered" for PlayStation 4 on their official site, with the game rated PEGI 18. It wouldn't be great for Activision, its shareholder and investors if people skipped out on the new game to go back and play Modern Warfare 2 Remastered's online offerings. The previous Modern Warfare Remastered had the multiplayer mode as well as the story mode ready at release.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered was later released as a separate game for $40.

The rumours have been picking up as of late, and the recent offering of Modern Warfare Remastered being free on PS4 has only added fuel to what has been a long-burning, heated fire. The sources claim that there will be no Multiplayer compatibility of this game available for the consoles.

At the time, Activision came under heavy fire for forcing players to buy special editions of IW if they wanted the remaster. When the title was originally leaked previous year, many in the game's industry talked about how the remastered version of the famous first-person shooter would only include the campaign.

It's been described as the best Call of Duty game yet, and is said to be creating a real buzz within the community. The fans have been waiting for Modern Warfare 4 ever since the release of Modern Warfare 3.

"Experience gripping and heart-racing action as you face off against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse", reads the official game description. In any case, the Call of Duty franchise will be making a comeback soon though in what form, that remains to be seen.
