The Voice star Janice Freeman has died aged 33. She had also battled lupus and cervical cancer, as well as meningitis, in the past. She died Saturday evening, ET said.

Miley Cyrus shares a touching tribute to late singer Janice Freeman.

Freeman was from Covina and lived in Compton, according to the singing competition's website.

Freeman is survived by her husband and daughter.

While on the show, Freeman was one of judge Miley Cyrus' favorites and was on her team, making it to the top 11. "Her friends and family greatly appreciate your prayers, calls, and texts during this time, and ask that they be given space to remember everything that Janice was to them as they process and mourn her loss". "While at home her husband Dion performed CPR until the ambulance arrived". She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 5:30pm.

Though final autopsy results haven't yet been performed, it appears that a blood clot which traveled to Janice's heart was the cause of the singer's death.

Cyrus honoured Freeman in her Instagram Stories Sunday morning, posting a photo of a rainbow with the caption, "Thank you @janicefreeman ... for everything".

Cyrus posted a tribute on Instagram to Freeman. Freeman married in 2015, and when she auditioned for The Voice in 2017 with a rock "n" soul remake of Imagine Dragons" "Radioactive', she told the coaches, "I fought my whole life for this moment". "I need y'all to understand that it is time to go into 2018 believing God for real". You see things happening and all of that. And her heart is so huge.
