Santiago Solari to be given rest of season by Florentino Perez?

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos and club president Florentino Perez have agreed to clear the air after the pair were engaged in a heated argument following Tuesday's Champions League loss to Ajax, say reports in the Spanish press.

Arsenal legend David Seaman admits he'd be happy if Tottenham won the Champions League. "Ask players if they would take three Champions League titles and then be eliminated (in the early rounds) the next year".

It capped a humiliating week in which they were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by FC Barcelona and beaten by Barca in the league.

Calderon also criticized Real Madrid approaching another former manager in Jose Mourinho as he feels that he's got a completely different footballing ethos as compared to Zinedine Zidane. But Madrid trails leader Barcelona by 12 points and is five behind second-place Atletico Madrid with 12 matches left.

Mourinho is believed to have doubts over making a Madrid comeback due to the fact several stars from his toxic first stint at the club remain in the squad.

"It is not to underestimate the opponent nor to think that the series is over, but in football you have to make tough decisions", added Ramos.

Real replaced Zidane with Spain coach Julen Lopetegui - a move that was a disaster for club, coach and country - but he lasted just four months, with Santiago Solari eventually taking the reins.

Ramos has been at the club since signing from Sevilla back in 2005 and his current contract runs until June 2020.

The speedy and skillful forward recently took over Gareth Bale's spot in Madrid's starting lineup. He helped it win the Club World Cup in December, but will nearly certainly leave without another trophy.

They also claim Perez wants Solari to be dismissed before Sunday's La Liga meeting with Valladolid.

"Real Madrid", he said, "has always had more candidates than Julia Roberts".
