Giants were reportedly heavily shopping Odell Beckham Jr

Late on Tuesday night, the Browns landed a receiver they had been targeting for quite some time as they came to terms with the New York Giants on a trade for Odell Beckham, Jr.

The All-Pro wide receiver was traded by the Giants on Tuesday, sending shockwaves through the National Football League and the sports world.

In the aftermath of Beckham's shocking exit from New York, Browns wide receiver Breshad Perriman asked Cleveland to void his agreement on a one-year, $4 million contract.

Peppers, a 2017 first-round draft pick, was sent to the Giants as part of the Beckham deal.

Much as the Steelers did in sending Antonio Brown to the Raiders, the Giants are absorbing significant dead money by trading Beckham. Gettleman made this move not even seven months after signing Beckham to a record five-year, $95 million contract.

Not only does OBJ cause headaches but in the last two seasons, he has played only 16 games.

It's a stunner of a deal and, frankly, an incredible steal for the Browns.

According to SportsLine's projections, the Browns move from 9.5 wins in 2019 to 10.1 wins in the coming season, while their Super Bowl chances spike from 1.6 percent to 3.3 percent (a massive difference in the Super Bowl odds market). So why not kick back at James place while King James rests in L.A.? "The running back, [Saquon] Barkley, is a first-ballot Hall of Famer if he stays healthy, but the problem is he's not a quarterback". They have their eye on taking a franchise quarterback, perhaps Oklahoma Heisman Trophy Kyler Murray or Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins.

Who will replace Jabrill Peppers? They are certainly not going to replace him with the 17th overall pick in the forthcoming draft.
