'Love Island' Star Mike Thalassitis Dead at 26

Former Love Island contestant Mike Thalassitis has died aged 26, his management has confirmed.

Sources claim the reality star was found dead in Essex yesterday.

The 26-year-old rose to fame when he appeared on the ITV show Love Island in 2017. His most successful spell during his sporting career came during the 2012/13 season, when he scored seven goals in 19 appearances for Boreham Wood.

The footballer turned reality star is reported to have been found dead in woodland near his home today (Friday, March 15). Please stop brandishing that. This is horrendous. I'm in shock.

While Tyla Carr, who was coupled up with Mike during the show, said "I can't believe the call I've just had". An absolute hero and a legend and someone I personally looked up to, always full of so much positivity and charisma.

"Mike you are going to be sorely sorely missed".

No cause of death has been revealed yet.

Former Love Island stars Dom Lever and Alex Beattie also join the debate surrounding aftercare for contestants with statements on Twitter.

She added: "My heart and soul and love goes out to his friends & family". My heart goes out to his family. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends at this time. I won't forget that.it's so sad.you will be missed. "Once again thank you so much and let's try to give dan the best send off him and his family deserve".

Fenton tweeted: "I'm lost for words".

"Our sincerest condolences go to his family & friends".

The reality star, who was also a star on E4's Celebs Go Dating, was due to be opening his own shop next week.

"Everybody at Stevenage FC is shocked & saddened to hear the tragic news about former player Michael Thalassitis", the club tweeted.
